This is an awesome product. give it a try. Imagine never having to install a screen reader. Just walk up to any machine, type the address www.satogo.com and follow the prompts. Instant speech.
John, I really like this product. The major drawback I see is that if for some reason the Internet is down and you need to access a computer, you're in trouble. I'd be curious to know if anyone has tried this in a public library or such places where administrative wrights aren't easilly accessible and if they've had any problems.
On a related note, I got an e-mail saying that Freedombox is in the process of changing their name. I just read it briefly at home, but I think its something like System Access Mobile. If anyone remembers, please help?
Lou
One person on a email list tried it at his job and it didn't work. I
tried it from a school computer and it did.
Trying it from a library is a great idea! hmmm.
And heres the HTML link for anyone who wants to get to it byjust clicking on the link. System Access to go website!
Lou, it's system access mobiel as you said. Yup, I would be interested in people trying this in various situations to see what happens. My bigges problem is it doesn't deal with the gmail site and I have sent much feedback about this. Also, they need to work on it's reading image links or untagged links and at least offering some info about it. It's still an evolving product and one well worth investing in.
John, I totally agree with your last statement.
I did try it. It saved my skin on multiple occasions, and it was my first introduction to Vista, on which it is quite unresponsive.
Really! I use sa and SATOGO on vista and SAToGo is a little slowr but not bad at all. Vista itself is slow and all screen readers are running a bit laggy.
I tried it today and i think it is impressive. I liked the fact that we can report programs that word with it and the feedback page.
So do they sell it or do they have to finish the beta first? When they start selling it is it going to cost the same as system access or more?
I also liked the audio tutorials.
